A Daily Devotional with Pastor Doug Crouse October 30, 2018 How Holy Do You Think God Is? Scripture Reading – Isaiah 6:2 - 3"Attending him were mighty seraphim, each having six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. They were calling out to each other, 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Heaven's Armies! The whole earth is filled with his glory!"

Perhaps today's title caught you off guard, and you're quick response would be, 'Pastor Doug, of course He’s holy, He is God'. To which I would reply, 'I know that, but that is not what I was asking you'.

This scene of the throne of heaven, and the glory of God can also be seen in the book of the Revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, where these mighty angels are also crying out for all of eternity, and they have eyes everywhere including all over their wings, both inside and out. (see Revelation 5). And for all of eternity long they are crying out, Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord!

But back to my question, 'How Holy Do You Think God Is?' And I am not looking simply for a casual ascent or quick response. But are you getting the holiness of God? The point of both Isaiah, and Revelation, and these mighty angels created with eyes all over is that He is so Holy that all of eternity itself will never allow any of us, or even them to begin to explore His depths.

Have you ever perhaps had a revelation of His holiness?

How long ago was that?

Perhaps it is time you had another one. Today, tomorrow, and every day that would refresh our hearts in the high and holy honor that is ours to serve the living God.

Yes, friends, we need to cry out to God to open our eyes, so that we too may continually plumb the depths of His great holiness. For when we do, we will not be holier than thou driving others away, but we actually will be more like Jesus, filled with eyes of love, mercy, compassion and grace, inviting others to know, grow and show the same for the honor of His name.

Prayer Father forgive me, yes forgive us for our lack of pressing in to who You are. Holy Spirit, open my eyes, today, and yes, even daily that I may see more of Thee. Make me more like You Jesus I pray in Your name and for Your glory. Amen.

Memory Verse: Exodus 33:11a"_______ the Tent of _________, the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend."
