A Daily Devotional with Pastor Doug Crouse October 23, 2018 More Glory Scripture Reading – 2 Corinthians 3:8 - 9 "Shouldn't we expect far greater glory under the new way, now that the Holy Spirit is giving life. If the old way, which brings condemnation, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new way which makes us right with God!"

Moses was the one known as speaking face to face with God in the Tent of Meeting. Even his aid Joshua after Moses left would stay behind and experience the afterglow of the glorious presence of God. You remember that after Moses was in God's presence, even his face shone with God's glory, so much so that the people were afraid and asked him to put a veil over his face. Truly, that's really amazing is it not? Yet this was the Old Covenant which brought condemnation to us, because none of us could ever fulfill the requirements of the law.

Today, both you and I, and everyone in Christ Jesus can, and according to today's text should expect even, 'More Glory'. The conditions of course are that we would like Moses, Joshua and the other glowing prophets of the Old Covenant, make and find a regular place to find ourselves face to face with the Father through Jesus the Son.

When we do that, should we expect any less than a glowing countenance? Of course not! We should expect at least that, but even more. Our outlook, our uplook, our gaze, or conversation, even our walking should be lifted by the grace of God that is ours in Christ Jesus.

And our message is no longer a message of condemnation, for still no one is able to fulfill the requirements of the law. Rather ours is the message of the Good News of the Gospel of God's salvation. God loved you, even before you began to consider Him, and sent His only Son to die for your sins, and the sins of all who will by faith come to Him.

This message should keep us joyfully looking at all people with the eyes of Jesus and the heart and love of our Father..

Prayer Thank-You Heavenly Father for the message of the grace of God through Jesus Christ my Lord. That You no longer count my sins against me, that I am free to serve You. Holy Spirit fill me with the life and light and love of the gospel I pray for the glory of Jesus my Lord.

Memory Verse:  Deuteronomy 20:4 "For the LORD your ____ is going with ____! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!”
