A Daily Devotional with Pastor Doug Crouse July 23, 2018  Spiritual Words Scripture Reading – 1 Corinthians 2:13 - 14 (NLT)"When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit's words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren't spiritual can't receive these truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can't understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means."

We most certainly are living in the time, age and place of instant messaging and communications. Not only by text, but by photo, and even video things can instantly be seen and heard world-wide.

The Apostle Paul speaking about the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that He came and died on the cross for the sins of anyone who will hear, explains that this message can only be understood by the revelation and inspiration of God's Holy Spirit. There must be an openness and willingness in the heart and mind of an individual in order for these most important spiritual truths to even begin to be understood.

To many, Jesus, His birth, death on the cross and even resurrection, is only information that does not bring any real transformation to their lives whatsoever. To many others the very message of the blood of Jesus and any need for them to be 'saved' from their own 'sins' is complete nonsense or at the very least irrelevant and unimportant to them.

It is for this very revelation that we need to continually be praying for as it touches the Word of God and our lives. That we not only would be open to, but hunger for an obedience to God's decrees that are to both save our lives, and draw others into relationship with the One True God, our Lord Jesus Christ.

We need to have spiritual ears, and spiritual hearts in order to speak, 'Spiritual Words', that will bring life to those who will hear what the Holy Spirit is speaking through us.

Prayer My Father in heaven, I pray for a revelation of Your Holy Spirit in my life as it touches the Word of God, and obedience and my own life spiritually. May I speak the words of the Spirit in such a way that the blind may see and the deaf may hear the glorious truths of the message of Jesus Christ, and so be saved. I ask this mercy for His glory and in His mighty name.

Memory Verse:  1 Timothy 2:8 NLT "Barnabas was a _____ man, full of the Holy Spirit and strong in the faith. And many people were brought to the Lord.”
