A Daily Devotional with Pastor Doug Crouse June 5, 2018 How Much More? Scripture Reading – Luke 11:13 (NLT) "So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him."

Most of us as parents know what it is like to have our son or daughter ask us for a gift. Usually if it is something that they really have their hearts set on, they will not be content to ask only once. In fact, they may clip out that picture from the magazine of that bright red bike. I remember doing this for my parents one year, and guess what happened – yep – a new bike!

Or keep on walking all of the dogs in the neighborhood, until they finally convince you that they really, really, really want a dog. That's what my daughter did, and now Molly is a wonderful addition to our home!

To tell you the truth, once we as parents know that our children really desire something, and if it is something beneficial, we will do almost anything to give it to them. The simple reason for this is that, well....we love them!

God reminds us in today's text that His love for us is even greater and in fact perfect in every way. So, 'How Much More?', will the Father be delighted to give us this gift. The gift that He wants to give us, and see us continually hungering and thirsting for is the fullness of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

When we keep on asking in faith, He will keep on filling up our lives with the satisfaction of His presence, power and the most precious Person of the Holy Spirit, for the accomplishing of every good purpose that He planned for us to accomplish for His greater glory.

The very best part about asking for the Person of the Holy Spirit to infuse our lives is that He never, ever gets old. In fact, just the opposite. He makes all things new, and through His glory leads us on the greatest adventure in this life that we ever could have, culminating in eternity itself.

Prayer Heavenly Father, thank-You for the life of the Spirit of God through me. I will continue to ask and draw near to You. Holy Spirit, fill me for the glory of Jesus I pray.

Memory Verse:  Matthew 24:14 NLT “And the _____ News about the _________ will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.”
