A Daily Devotional with Pastor Doug Crouse May 24, 2018 En Theos Scripture Reading – Romans 12:10 - 12 (NLT) "Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying."

Don't you find honest enthusiasm simply infectious and for all of the right reasons? It picks people up, encourages them to keep on keeping on, brightens up a dark room, lets the person know that it will be o.k., and puts smiles on faces all over and in all kinds of places!

But when I think about the true meaning behind this word enthusiasm, I must confess - I even get more enthused about it and want to be a more enthusiastic person wherever I may be, and in whatever circumstance I may find myself.

For that word enthused finds its meaning in two Greek words: 'En Theos'. Perhaps you may recognize the second word in our study devoted to: Theology (the study of God). ‘En Theos’, literally means: 'In God'!

I must confess, I like that thought. That the more I actually get into God in my life, that the more of an enthusiastic person I may become. I like the picture of putting on Christ and taking my into Him...ness and spreading it as much as I can and the best way that I can to everyone that I can for as long as I can.Honestly the more I am thinking about it, the more enthused I am getting! Yes, it will require hard work, not laziness, but to a better end for all. It will result in loving others and building up and honoring one another. It will be filled with rejoicing in all circumstances, because of the hope of Jesus Christ. And it will show forth in praising, praying and not giving up, until the answer comes!

Prayer Father forgive me when I have not been into You as much as I should. Holy Spirit enthuse me for the greater purposes of God in my life, and make me a blessing to others I pray in Jesus name.

Memory Verse:  Romans 1:16a NLT “For I am not ________ of this ______ News about Christ. It is the _______ of God at ______, saving everyone who believes."
