A Daily Devotional with Pastor Doug Crouse May 13, 2018Thank-You Mom Scripture Reading – Proverbs 31:28 - 30 (NLT)"Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her: ‘There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!’ Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised.”

What is the life of mom like: She birthed you at great pain which vanished the moment she saw your face; she nursed you when you were hungry; she changed you before you ever knew you needed it; she dressed you up in the best clothing she could find; she shed a tear the first day you went off to school; she kissed you goodnight; she helped you with anything that you asked her to; she drove you – and your friends where you needed to get to; she made sure that you looked and did your very best; she taught you about God and modeled a lifestyle that you want to emulate all of your life through; she loved you, even at those times when you seemed to be unlovable; she always believed in you; she defended you like mother bear should from any and all attacks; she wanted you to achieve even better than she ever had and sacrificed all she could to see it happen; she prayed for you each and every day God graced to her - and she will always be your mom because that is who God blessed her to be!

Now, perhaps not all of even many of those things describe your mom, I am not sure. But they only begin to scratch the surface of the many things that my mother did, and still does in many of these areas for her son. So on Mother’s Day, I want to be extra careful to say, ‘Thank-You Mom’, may God continue to bless you for all that you do not only for me, or our family but all of those that God causes to cross your pathway.

Mothers, fathers, sisters or brothers, may we all aspire to characteristics such as these, because the world will be a much better place as people are touched by the riches of His love, mercy and grace!

Prayer Heavenly Father, I thank-You so much for a godly mother, and today I lift up all moms to You asking You to bless them and prosper them in all that they do in Jesus precious name. Amen.

Memory Verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:16 - 18 NLT “Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
