A Daily Devotional with Pastor Doug Crouse  May 5, 2018   Come In   Scripture Reading – Psalm 95:1 - 3 (NLT) "Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him. For the Lord is a great God, a great King above all gods."

I have the joy of working in an excellent office space. While my study at work is right off of the main office, the staff know that when my blinds are closed that I appreciate the quietness in which to work, study and pray. Sometimes I will say to them, please no calls, unless it is my family. Then of course no matter what is going on, if it is my wife or any of my children I will always and immediately say, 'Come In', and stop whatever it is I may be doing giving them my time and attention. But that's just me.

Imagine daughters and sons of the living and loving and gracious God of all creation. He bids us to come to Him at any time. You remember that the veil was torn from top (heaven) to bottom (earth) symbolizing our open access to God the Father through Jesus Christ our Lord.

When we come together, and especially when we remember Jesus triumphal entry into Jerusalem and the joyful singing and shouting that was raised up in praise. May we also take full advantage of our opportunity to lift up our voices in thanksgiving, singing and loud praises.

Why should we together aspire to such a great sound every time we meet? Simply or should I - rather I should say that our God is great, and He is greatly to be praised. So together let us lift up and magnify His glorious name. As we do friends He will inhabit the place of our corporate praises and our hearts will be filled together with great joy! Sing, shout, praise: Hosanna to the King of all kings, and the Lord of all lords, our living and loving Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer Father I rejoice that today You bid me to come and worship You. Holy Spirit empower the place of my praise today and every day. For you are deserving of all of the honor, glory and praise both now and forevermore through Jesus Christ our Lord…Amen!

Memory Verse: Acts 1:8 NLT “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere…”
