A Daily Devotional with Pastor Doug Crouse April 29, 2018He Has Shown You Scripture Reading – Micah 6:8 (NLT) "No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God."

Something eternally wonderful and amazing happened to each one of us that very day that by the grace of Jesus we were adopted as His very own daughters and sons. We were given a new heart to function from, a new mind of Christ that we might be able to understand the things of the Spirit, new eyes to see and of course new ears to hear.

As the Bible teaches us, now we who are the children of God our Father are those who are led by the Spirit of God. Through prayer, the Word, and His people truly, 'He Has Shown You', and me too, what it is that we really need to do in order to please and glorify His name.

Firstly, it starts by doing the good things that God has purposed for our lives, walking in His power for His greater glory. From your heart of hearts you know that it is the right thing to do.

Secondly, we are as the recipients of mercy, meaning getting exactly what we did not deserve for our own sinfulness, to be not only accepting and dispensing of mercy but actually be those who love the place of mercy, as we touch the lives of others.

Thirdly, no matter how long we may have been serving our loving Lord, or what great things He  may have purposed through our lives, we are to be those who are found as walking humbly in thanksgiving before Him. I love what someone said about humility: 'It is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking about yourself less'.

Yesyesyes, these are exactly the things that God expects and requires from our lives today.

Prayer Heavenly Father guide my steps along the right pathway for others to see. Make me merciful and gracious like Thee. Spirit of the loving and living God teach me to walk in humility to glorify Thee, I pray in and through Jesus my Lord.

Memory Verse: Acts 1:8 NLT “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere…”
