A Daily Devotional with Pastor Doug Crouse April 12, 2018 Sow What Scripture Reading – Galatians 6:7 - 8 (NLT)"Don't be misled - you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit."

You do not have to be a farmer at all to understand that if you plant potatoes, you will reap _____________, or carrots will bring forth ____________, tomatoes will yield _____________ and cucumbers will grow more _________________.

'So What'?....you might ask. And that is exactly what is being done in the challenge of today's text to our hearts, attitudes, words, actions and yes our very lives. The kinds of seeds that God will enable and encourages us to sow are those seeds of the Spirit of God. And these may not necessarily be our first response, even as believers. However, we are wise if we choose to plant these, as the result will be the life that only the Spirit of God can bring forth.

So then choose to plant seeds of: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, self-control, forgiveness, brotherly love, compassion, generosity, holiness, truthfulness, encouragement, helpfulness, tender-heartedness, humility, thanksgiving, mercy and grace. Each and every one of these comes to you from the Father of Lights, and in the Person, presence and power of the Holy Spirit.

And the reward is an abundant harvest. Today, of course. But not only for time, most importantly for eternity.

Prayer Heavenly Father today I confess that often times I know how I should respond, but it does not come out first. Forgive me for when I miss sowing these kinds of seeds. Holy Spirit fill me, and empower me today in all I do and all I say to glorify Jesus my Lord and Savior I pray in Jesus mighty name.

Memory Verse:  Proverbs 11:25 NLT “The ________ will _______; _______who refresh ______ will themselves be refreshed."
