A Daily Devotional with Pastor Doug Crouse March 29, 2018 Faithful Servants Scripture Reading – 1 Peter 4:10 (NLT)“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another."

Can you pause right now, take a moment and remember the joy that you experienced, when someone thoughtfully picked out a gift for you and you opened it up. As you are at that place in your heart and mind, there is a great thankfulness of joy for the thoughtfulness displayed by that individual.

Today's text reminds each one of us in the body of Christ, that God, the One who is the giver of every good and perfect gift, has given each and every one of us a gift from His abundance. These gifts have been bestowed upon us by His perfect heart of love, for a specific purpose. This purpose is that we would be willing to thoughtfully take the time, and use the gift that our loving Father has provided to us in order to serve other people.

This service that we give is not something that is to be done haphazardly, but rather something that you and I should hone and develop and do to the best of our abilities in Christ Jesus.

As we give and share the gifts that God has placed within each one of us, we will be showing ourselves to be His, 'Faithful Servants'. We can remember that even the disciples (all of them) missed the opportunity to take up the towel, until the Servant came into the room and washed each and every one of their feet.

As we share our gifts more and more, joy will be experienced by those whom are gifted through our acts of obedience and thoughtfulness. However, the result in our lives will be a fullness of joy, and the sense that we are bringing a smile to the face of our Savior, the One who served us all.

Prayer My Father in heaven, I rejoice in the gifts that You have given to each one of us from Your heart of love. Spirit of the living God, make me a more loving, giving, sharing and caring person I pray, and may I use the gifts You have given me to glorify Jesus, by serving others with His love.

Memory Verse:  Ephesians 2:4 – 5a NLT “But God is so rich in ______, and he _______ us so much that even though we were _____ because of our _____, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead.”
