A Daily Devotional with Pastor Doug Crouse March 26, 2018 Bright Lights Scripture Reading – Philippians 2:14 - 15 (NLT) “Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people."

It is true of each one of us who has received the light of the glory of Christ Jesus through salvation, that we carry His light inside of our hearts, but there are particular ways in which we can shine like, 'Bright Lights', and draw more and more people to find life through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  Today's text gives us a command that is all encompassing. No complaining and no arguing in everything! Now if the bible said most everything that may not be hard for most of us, but that is not the case.

When we by the Spirit of God endeavor to remove that spirit of complaining, criticizing or arguing so prevalent in the world in which we live something wonderful takes place. Since this is the way in which the world conducts itself, when we are the opposite, and in the right spirit, it makes them wonder why we conduct ourselves in such a manner.  In their wondering, they then give us a second, third and even forth look, and what do they see? They see the results of the Light, Jesus our Lord, Who by the Person, presence and power of the Holy Spirit is enabling us to conduct ourselves in this way.

The best result of all is that when people begin to see His light in our lives, then they are drawn to the Light of Jesus and find eternal life as they shine in order for others to see His light and life in them too!

Prayer Father, forgive me for the times that I have complained, argued or criticized. Help me to be thankful in all things, and shine brightly so that others may see the Light and life of Christ Jesus in me. I believe and receive this in Jesus precious name.

Memory Verse:  Ephesians 2:4 – 5a NLT “But God is so rich in ______, and he loved us so much that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead.”
