A Daily Devotional with Pastor Doug Crouse March 24, 2018 The Master Builder Scripture Reading – 1 Peter 2:5 - 6 (NLT) “And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What's more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God."

I remember just over seventeen years ago, when our family moved West that one of the biggest decisions that we had to make was in which house and neighborhood our family would reside. There was one house that looked good to us, and so we put a conditional offer in on it. Thankfully home inspectors can see things that the untrained eye cannot. And upon inspection, they found that the foundation was cracked, and the house was actually moving which was effecting the doors and windows in the house, and would only get worse. Fortunately, we were released from what would have been a costly error, because of that close inspection, and were led to purchase another home.

Today's text reminds all of us who belong to God through Christ Jesus that He is the Chief Cornerstone and our building plans have been designed by, 'The Master Builder'. As such, we need to pay careful attention to the blueprint of His holy Word, and the lead the Holy Spirit Who is your very own personal Project Manager, and is always on the watch, to keep us from costly mistakes, and make our lives most profitable.

By design, you and I are through Jesus, priests that continually offer sacrifices with our lives which are pleasing to God. You remember also that the priests were always to keep the fires burning, and as we live our lives out in the sensitivity of prayer and praise, these rise up to God as a pleasing sacrifice.

As the Father is pleased with our lives, and we abide in Christ Jesus the result is fruit that will remain, both now and into eternity itself!

Prayer Father, today I want to be responsive to the purposes and plans that You have for me in Your Master plan. Thank-You for leading me in the best pathway, and glorifying your Son and my Lord Jesus through my life each and every day.

Memory Verse:  1 Chronicles 16:11 NLT “Search for the LORD and for his strength; continually seek him.”
