The Possibilities of Faith Scripture Reading – Hebrews 11:5 - 6 (NLT)“It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying – ‘he disappeared, because God took him.’ For before he was taken up he was known as a person who pleased God. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”

This eleventh chapter has been called by many, ‘The Hall of Fame of Faith’, where a number of God’s elect servants are mentioned and what their faith sustained them to do is written for our encouragement.

We know that King David was known by God Himself as a man after God’s own heart. Enoch must have been even more so. For His walk of faith was so pleasing to the Father, that before Enoch experienced death, God called him home. What an amazing thought!

As we are thinking of these heroes of our faith we need to be once again reminded of, ‘The Possibilities of Faith’, for as we read here it is impossible to please God without it.

As we thank God for our faith, we all realize that it is He who quickened believing faith to our hearts in the first place so that we could respond to His love through Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord. It is our faith of course that we have exercised all along our life’s journey and God calling to be sustained and see the answers to prayer that God has already given to us.

In our heart of hearts as the children of God we identify with Enoch as a people who want to please the Lord. Of course there are people that we love whom we are believing God for to come to know the grace of God in Jesus even as we have. We also want to see this Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ go out to the very ends of the earth.

When it comes to the Word of God in each one of our lives, may we remember that it is filled with great and precious promises. It is by faith that you and I are to lay hold of these to see His kingdom come and His will done both here on earth as it is in heaven. And what are these possibilities of faith for you and I my sister and brother? Both endless and without number through Jesus Christ our living and loving Savior and Lord.

Prayer Heavenly Father of course I believe that You exist, for You sustain my life calling each and every day. Help me to remember that You reward those who seek You with all of their hearts. Today I want to say once again I love You Father and give myself to this lifelong pursuit, through Jesus Christ my Savior and Lord. Amen.

Memory Verse:  Colossians 4:2 NLT“________ yourselves to _______ with an _______ ______ and a thankful heart.”
