No One Like Our God Scripture Reading – Daniel 9:8 - 9 (NLT)“O LORD, we and our kings, princes, and ancestors are covered with shame because we have sinned against you. But the Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him.”

One-day Peter asked Jesus how many times he should forgive someone who sins against him offering the answer of seven times in one day, expecting to be commended. The shocking reply from our Lord Jesus you remember was four hundred and ninety times, which means that we are to be forgiving without counting.

If you are thinking as I am quite honestly that there is no human anywhere that has this capacity to forgive in such a manner, you are absolutely right.

For this along with today’s and many other texts in God’s Word serve once again to remind us that there is absolutely, “No One Like Our God”.Interesting to note that all of those called and mightily used by God were well in touch with both who God is when compared to their humanity. Moses – asking God to choose someone else. Nehemiah – from a distance saying he, his family, all God’s people had sinned and fallen short. Isaiah – for sure a holy man saying he was undone a man of unclean lips along with a people of unclean lips, in the presence of God Almighty – Paul – calling himself the worst of sinners and less than the least of all God’s people.

Yes, all of these and more along with Daniel recognize that our God is holy, but He is so willing to forgive and show mercy through Jesus Christ our living and loving Lord and Savior! Even though we have rebelled you might wonder? Let the thief on the cross who in his dying breath was assured that he would be with Jesus in paradise, simply from saying from his heart, ‘Remember me’!

What does all of this say to us once again my sisters and brothers in Jesus? We have been entrusted with the greatest news of all, the Gospel of the matchless grace of God through Jesus Christ our Lord. May we be faithful in taking it to the ends of the earth, for there is nothing else worth devoting our lives for!

Prayer My heavenly Father I remember Jesus saying that He came not for those who think they are well, but for those who know that they are sick. How I rejoice in your love, mercy and grace extended so undeservingly into my life each and every day. Use me I pray to see more come and receive this gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ my Lord I pray.

Memory Verse:  Mark 12:30 NLT “And you must _____ the LORD your God with ____ your _____, all your _____, all your mind, and all your strength.”
