Mining for Gold Scripture Reading – Proverbs 8:17 - 19(NLT)“I love all who love me. Those who search will surely find me. I have riches and honor, as well as enduring wealth and justice. My gifts are better than gold, even the purest gold, my wages better than sterling silver!” .

My birthplace and home for the first eighteen years of my life was Sudbury, Ontario, known in those days of my childhood as the nickel capitol of the world. Well over 20,000 people were employed in the industry of mining, and still to this day there is enough precious metal in the rocks that the exploration, discovery and benefit of these precious metals carry’s on.

In today’s text spiritually speaking God our Father is encouraging those of us who belong to Him to be people involved in, ‘Mining for Gold’. Not of the earthly value of gold, silver, nickel, or any kind of precious metals. But that which is worth eternally so much more – a willingness and desire to pursue the fullness of the plans and purposes of God for our lives.

God promises that there will be no fixed hiring policies when it comes to discovering the treasures that He has to offer. And there will never be any depletion of the resources for He is the God who created and sustains all things! But this invitation is open to one and all who truly will seek His heart, even seek His face, looking to know, grow and show more of His wonderful love, grace and mercy to others.

The promise to you today my sister and brother is that God will be found as you seek after Him, digging down deeper into His goodness. The gifts and graces that He will pour into and through your life are much more than can be found in any earthly thing. The wealth that will be given to you will not spoil or fade away, but will last forever and ever as a testimony to those desires of your heart and life.

However, like any mining, any exploration, and searching, there must be a willing participant who will hunger and thirst after these deeper things. May that describe you and I as we wisely spend our lives for His greater glory.

Prayer Heavenly Father I thank-You for the riches of Your Word. The fellowship of the body of Christ, the church whom You love to which I belong. That I have been included by Your grace in this wonderful race of a living and loving faith in Jesus. Fill me I pray with all of Your fullness that I may hunger, thirst, seek and search after those riches that matter the most, that will never fade away, I pray in Jesus precious name.

Memory Verse:  Mark 12:30 NLT “And you must _____ the LORD your God with ____ your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.”
