Willing Workers   Scripture Reading – Colossians 3:23 - 24 (NLT) “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.”

Perhaps you have heard the song, ‘Whistle While You Work’. Not a bad idea at all since around one third of our lives will be spent in the work place. Someone else wisely said, ‘Be employed at what you enjoy doing, then you will never have to work a day in your life.’

While it is true that we are wise to find ourselves doing something that we enjoy, work actually is a major part of each one of our lives, apart from sleeping. God has instructed those of us who know Him to be, ‘Willing Workers’. As such we are to be those who give of our heart and lives in our work setting realizing that this too is a part of the blessing of God on our life.

We are not only to work when the boss is looking at us, or for the approval of people, but rather we are called to do our work unto the Lord. When we bring this attitude of faithfulness to our work, for sure we will be recognized as a good worker, but more importantly our Father in heaven will see everything that we do and He will reward us both now and even into eternity with a divine inheritance.

Even as we look to our living and loving Lord Jesus Christ as our example, we see that He was faithful to serve the will of the Father. May we too be willing servants of Christ Jesus, for truly there is no greater joy in the human heart, nor any greater reward than living all of our lives for His greater glory.

Prayer Heavenly Father I thank-You today for those things that You have placed before me to work at. In my home life, my family, my schooling, at my work place – keep me thankful of everything that You have blessed me with. Make me a willing worker serving You with thanksgiving for all of my life I pray in Jesus precious name.
