A Daily Devotional with Pastor Doug Crouse  February 3, 2018   All You Really Need   Scripture Reading – Matthew 6:33 - 34 (NLT)

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”

When you and I came to know the grace of God and asked Jesus to forgive us and come into our hearts and lives and confessed that Jesus was Lord we were completely changed, both now and forever. No longer was I on the throne of my heart and life to decide how I would like to live. Now Jesus Christ is both my Savior and Lord, and I desire to do first His will!

Yes, in all things you and I as His children are to wake up asking God to lead and guide us into that plan that He has designed for each one of our lives. More than anything we are to seek God’s Kingdom first, for this is what it means to follow Jesus. Not only do we now have right standing with the Father in heaven, but from our hearts we want to live and do the right thing. It is in this way God has promised to be, ‘All You Really Need’.

Of course there are those times, seasons and things that come into our lives that tempt us to worry and fret that God actually is not in control, or perhaps does not even hear or care. But if you belong to Jesus – you are His and He is yours! Jesus has instructed you and I not to worry about today, and certainly not about tomorrow, for fear is the enemy of faith, hope and trust in God.

Whatever you and I are facing today our loving Father in heaven has allowed it to come into our lives. Not to hurt us, but to guide us back into His loving arms. So even as Jesus has told us to pray, can we look in faith to the Father who is our loving provider and pray, ‘Give us this day our daily bread’.

As you lift up that petition to the Lord, it will be more than enough for you and God’s grace will most certainly see you through!

Prayer My Father in heaven forgive me I pray for those times even seasons when I have allowed fear to steal my faith. I want to thank-You right now that You are always with me, will never leave me and from the abundance of Your storehouse will provide me with everything I need. I receive Your grace today through Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.

Memory Verse:  1 John 5:14 NLT “And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.”
