Think About It   Scripture Reading – Philippians 4:8 (NLT)

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise."

The Apostle Paul is responsible through the grace, calling and equipping of God for the writing of so much of God's Word in the New Testament. Perhaps the most joyful book of all in the bible is that of Philippians, which was in fact written from jail. One might imagine, and in fact quite honestly should!  How it is humanly possible to deliver such a letter of joy while imprisoned for preaching the Good News of Jesus.

If we do stop to consider that question, the evident answer is that they joy did not come from his circumstances at the time, but rather from dwelling and abiding in the truths of God's Word. And so we too will benefit greatly in our lives if we choose to, 'Think About It'.  Those truths which the Word of God promises to all who call upon the name of Jesus.

So pause right now and meditate on the things that His Word says concerning you: His love is so great that He died for you; His plan and purposes are absolutely the best for you; His peace is promised to be with you; your future is secure in His love; there is no-where that you can go, where His presence will not go before you; He will complete the good work that He began in you; there is nothing too difficult for Him to accomplish through you; He is most glorified when you respond in joyful service to the needs that He places before you.

Allow these eternal truths to shape and bring significance to your day today and each day until we see Jesus. My sister and brother at the beginning of this New Year, let’s each one of us to continue to rejoice in the Lord, for this is where our strength is found.

Prayer Heavenly Father I rejoice in Who You are today, and in Jesus my Lord, and in the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit in my life. Thank-You for the washing of the water of the Word over my heart, soul and mind. I receive Your peace, Your presence, Your passion, Your purpose, and Your overflowing joy into my life right now in Jesus name. I will choose to think on these things and be daily renewed in all I think, say and do.

Memory Verse:  Revelation 21:5 NLT “And the one sitting on the throne said, 'Look, I am making everything new!' And then he said to me, 'Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true."
