A Daily Devotional with Pastor Doug Crouse  January 11, 2018   The Best Way   Scripture Reading – Psalm 32:8 - 9 (NLT)

“The Lord says, 'I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. Do not be like a senseless horse or mule that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control."  

Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, has promised us not only life and that eternal, but also that He would show us the way. Not just one way, or even a better way, but... 'The Best Way', each and every day as we look to Him and follow the leading and guidance of the precious Holy Spirit.

This promise of God's guidance belongs to each one of us as daughters and sons of the living God, and as we walk in His ways, truly our lives will bear much fruit for His greater glory. You remember Jesus words as daily He spent the moments before Him, that He only did those things that pleased His Father. This is the exact same direction in which He encourages and empowers each and every one of us. 

Of course there will be those times when truly, we are unsure of exactly how we should respond, and God has promised that as we look to Him for advice, that He will light the pathway before us.

There is also the temptation to become distracted with the things of this world, or even disappointed in perhaps the way things seem to be turning out in our lives. When we are leaning toward these ways, God encourages us not to be stubborn, or senseless, but rather to allow His Word and His ways to become the daily pattern for our lives. As we do exactly this day in and day out, right actions will lead to right feelings - and our lives will shine for Jesus calling others to walk in the pathway that leads to life eternal.  

Prayer My heavenly Father, I rejoice in the promise today that You will lead me. Help me to follow You in thoughts words and deeds I pray. Holy Spirit, open up the Word, and help me to hear and obey Your voice each day for the glory of Jesus my Lord.
