God's Song of New   Scripture Reading – Psalm 40:3 (NLT)

“He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in God."

David, that shepherd boy, the one after God's own heart was one who when he worshipped the Lord in song, captured His hearts attention in the most pleasing way. Not only when he worshipped, but also when he wrote the many songs we now see in the Word as Psalms which are still lifted up in praise to God the Father today all over the world.

What is it that allows us to experience as those who love the Lord, 'God's Song of New'? Does it depend on our own personal musical taste and things such as: when was this song written (yesterday, or two hundred years ago?), it this song Country, Classical or Rock and Roll?, is the tempo fast or slow?, is it loud or softly sung? If you are asking for my opinion none of the above will cause our expression of worship to God to be made new.

Rather the song that unifies us in the body of Christ is rooted in our hearts expression of the salvation of God, Who lifted us up from the depths of self and despair, and has set our lives on the Rock Christ Jesus, alive and ablaze in the Spirit of God.

When this is our focus, it can be any style, fast or slow, soft or loud, and we raise up our praise in grateful thanksgiving to the One who alone is worthy to be praised forever and forever.

And when our worship of God actually lifts us above our own individual personal tastes and ever preferences in the light of being with others who also have experienced the grace and love of Jesus, others will be amazed, sit up and take notice too!

Prayer Heavenly Father today I commit by the Spirit of God to sing the song of new. Make my praises join in with the song of those who have been saved by the grace of Jesus my Lord too, I pray for His glory, honor and praise.

Memory Verse: Colossians 3:10 "Put on your new ________, and be ________ as you ______ to know your __________ and ________ like him.”
