Art Thou Worthy? Scripture Reading – Revelation 4:8 (NLT)

"Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered all over with eyes, inside and out. Day after day and night after night they keep on saying, 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty - the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come."

Exactly where does our motivation and declaration of worship as God's people come from, every time we meet together on the Lord's Day or otherwise to joyfully together lift up His praises with our voices in song?

Does it have to do with the date, time and place of which the particular song was written? Is it depending on our own individual personal likes and preferences of musical taste and style? Is it based on if it is a hymn or a chorus, if it is fast or slow, if it is loud or soft? On the person leading the singing? I certainly would declare - none of the above, for if that was so - we would separate into little cloisters, probably human nature being what it is dwindling down to the chosen frozen, which is not at all what God has purposed or planned. And most certainly not what we will know in heaven!

Allow the Holy Spirit to challenge you today even in the titles of songs: Will I Worship You Almighty God?; Will I Enter Your Gates?; Will I Bring The Sacrifice of Praise?; Will I Exalt Thee?; and - 'Art Thou Worthy'?

Yes, yes, yes - a trillion times and beyond...YES! So may we take a lesson today from what we will be doing in heaven as seen in Revelation (the revelation of Jesus Christ) chapter 4 and 5 - The mighty living beings forever discovering and with a thunderous roar forever proclaiming, ‘Holy, Holy, Holy’, the 24 elders falling down casting down their golden crowns and proclaiming and mightily singing, ‘He is worthy’, thousands and millions of angels singing, ‘worthy’ in a mighty chorus, every creature in heaven - the earth - and the sea singing ‘blessing, glory, honor and power’ - and every one saying – ‘AMEN!’

Prayer AMEN - Let it be my Father that on this resurrection weekend, I come and join my joyful praise and adoration to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the One who is worthy forever and ever, world without end – AMEN!

Memory Verse: Revelation 5:12 (NLT)“And they sang in a _______ chorus: 'Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered - to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing."
