You Will Never Take My Place Scripture Reading – Luke 19:39 - 40 (NLT)

"But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, 'Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!' He replied, 'If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!"

Do you want to be a part of the 'all', or include yourself with the 'some'?

For on that great and triumphal entry day of Jesus into Jerusalem, they - 'all' - of his followers were involved in shouting, singing and seeing that Jesus was the blessed one and He had come in the name of the Lord, worthiest of their praises, hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest!

While yet there were the, 'some'. These few are the ones that tapped Jesus on the shoulder right as He was in the midst of the celebration, being convinced that He would hear their wisdom and act accordingly, bringing order to what they thought was chaos!

And He did listen to them, but they for the most part unfortunately did not listen to or like His reply and so probably went away saying, 'No point talking to him, it just goes in one ear and out the other'.

For me, I will find myself amongst the, 'all'. And each Lord's Day, I will by the grace of God make it my business to worship my risen Jesus who has loved me so with 'all' of His followers. Jesus replied to the religious Pharisees that day and would do the same today, that if they did not worship him that even a stones would take their place. And for my part I want to say, 'You Will Never Take My Place', certainly not any stone, nor any other person(s).Further: no song choice, be it fast or slow, quiet or loud, new or old, no song leader will discourage me in my choice to worship my Jesus, no setting be it conservative or what I may consider to be very charismatic or even somewhat out of control in my estimation in a moment of consideration. No, nothing at all will ever take my place, but I will worship Jesus with 'all' of the rest of His church by His grace, until I see Him face to face!

Prayer Father I will never let any stone or anyone take my place. I pray you will use my life in all I think, do, act, sing and say to cause a shout of praise to rise up Your way. For Jesus my Lord is most worthy of the highest praise, yesterday, today and forever. Amen.
