Rejoicing In Praise Scripture Reading – Luke 19:37b - 40 (NLT)“...all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen. 'Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven!' But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, 'Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!' He replied, 'If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!"

What a wonderful picture or worship, exaltation, praise and celebration we witness in this the named, 'Triumphal Entry', of our Lord Jesus in to Jerusalem. Young and old alike joining with all of their hearts and souls loudly magnifying and celebrating the One who is worthy of all praise world without end....Amen!

But there were those religious ones, the Pharisees, who just could not tolerate such an expression of worship both in liberty and in their own thinking that worship was to be reserved (pun intended) for God and God alone, and in their understanding Jesus was anything but that!

I love the reply of Jesus to them, that if this celebration was to be quieting down, even the rocks would shout out the praises of His name. Rather than reducing the praise we see Jesus Christ, 'Rejoicing in Praise', for truly, He alone is worthy!

I think of the wonderful picture that God must revel in when each and every time that His people get together in the church to sing His praises, when they join together in praise, honor, celebration and exaltation to the name of Jesus Christ our Lord - He inhabits those places and people with His very Presence!

This weekend as you come together with your church family be one of those who lifts up a joyful celebration perhaps even a shout of praise in His name. As you do, God rejoices over you in His presence.

Prayer My Father I rejoice today that I can serve You through Jesus my Lord and love You with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. Help my life to sing Your praises, in the private places and certainly when I praise in the congregation, I pray this in and through the glory of Jesus my Lord.

Memory Verse: Luke 19:38a “Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the LORD!”
