Experiencing Perfect Peace Scripture Reading – Isaiah 26:3 (NLT)

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you."

One thing is for certain, both as believers who read the words of the bible and daily live out our lives - we must do so in this imperfect world with our imperfect selves. Is it possible or even probable that we should expect to actually be people who are, 'Experiencing Perfect Peace', any more or less than other believers, or even those who have no faith relationship with God whatsoever?

Isaiah the prophet under the unction of the Holy Spirit in the Word of God certainly thought so! Some 700 years before Christ's coming to earth he expressed how this may be achieved by those of us who are the followers of God.

There are two particular issues that will release the peace of God into our circumstances and situations. The first is one of trust. Now it is easy to trust God in the daylight, but it is in those moments of darkness and lack of certainty that trust has its greatest calming effect on our lives. The second is our thought life, and choosing to discipline our minds to think about the realities of this life in light of the faith and hope that we share with the God of heaven.

For those of us who are, 'in Christ', and have, 'the mind of Christ', we must also put these two elements of trust and our thought life under the all-knowing, all seeing, and all working grace of God. As we commit to that even though our circumstances may not change, or perhaps they may even get worse - God will sustain our lives with His perfect peace.

Prayer Heavenly Father, I ask You to forgive me today for those things I have a hard time trusting you with. Help me not to have anxious thoughts. Holy Spirit impart faith into my life today, and help me to trust Jesus completely in all things. I receive Your perfect peace right now in Jesus name. Thank-You Lord.

Memory Verse: Psalm 3:3 “But ____, O LORD, are a _______ around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.”
