It's Worth The Extra Effort Scripture Reading – 2 Peter 3:14 (NLT)

“And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight."

If you have been spending any time over the last number of years looking at the headlines, or watching the national news concerning the affairs of this world, you can see that at times things seem to be quite out of control. The amounts of political and even social changes going on all over the world can appear staggering indeed.

Peter writing some 2000 years ago, encouraged us as believers to remember that soon Christ will return. How much more poignant today to realize that when He does come back, He is not coming as the Lamb, but rather the Lion. And Jesus will come as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, bringing judgment of all of those who have laughed or even mocked the thought of His ever coming again.

As believers even though at times things may look out of control, we understand by faith that God is sovereign and absolutely in control of the affairs of this world, and by the Person and power of the Holy Spirit is moving all over the earth in hearts and lives in these days calling people into relationship and eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Even though sometimes as followers of Jesus we can become tired or distracted because of worldly events and even the hardness of the hearts of some people in these last days, we need to remember that, 'It's Worth the Extra Effort', for each one of us to press in to the Lord Jesus and be those who are like bright lights shining even in the darkest of places.

Yes, friend as you strive in the grace of God to be at peace with all people, and to live a holy life in thought, word and deed, great will be your reward both today and even into eternity itself. So press on daughters and sons of the living and loving God, in His power and grace and continue to make every effort to be channels of His grace.

Prayer Heavenly Father, I thank-You for the Person of the Holy Spirit, Your Word that carries me through. Help me today to make every effort to shine for You. I believe and receive this for the glory of Jesus my Lord.

Memory Verse: Psalm 3:3 “But ____, O LORD, are a _______ around ___; you are my glory, the one who ______ my head high.”
