The Price of Peace Scripture Reading – Colossians 1:19 - 20 (NLT)

“For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ's blood on the cross."

It was not with our own effort, nor with the costly treasures of earth like gold and silver that peace with God has been made possible. But rather it was with the precious blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ spilled on the cross for our salvation from sin, death and the grave.

The power of this once and for all sacrifice of the blood of Jesus is that when our Lord cried out, 'It is finished', and completed the work that the Father had required of Him - that the possibility of reconciliation of all things both on heaven and here on earth was achieved. The precious blood of Jesus cleanses all of those who look to Him in faith, forever to the greater glory of God.

And there is absolutely nothing that anyone, anywhere can ever hope to add for forgiveness of sins, as 'The Price of Peace', exacted on the cross of Calvary that day was given once and for all of those who will ever believe on the Lord Jesus.

Now our lives and everything we do in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, are in no way adding to our righteousness or right standing with the Father, but rather a grateful response of love, for the One who loved us even with his own blood.

And so the peace we have been given with God the Father allows us to have peace both within our own souls and then display His peace to those who so need to know the same grace that we, His daughters and sons know. May this hope that resides in our hearts, shine brightly through the willing sacrifice of our lives.

Prayer Father in heaven, I remember today the sacrifice of Your Son, my Savior, Jesus Christ, and His blood on the cross. I receive right now and rejoice in the peace that is mine as Your child. Holy Spirit overflow with hope through me touching others with your grace I pray in Jesus name.

Memory Verse: Psalm 3:3 “But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.”
