Use Them Well Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 4:10 - 11

“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.

Absolutely everyone who belongs to the church of God, the body of Christ have been born-again by the Spirit have been given a gift or gifts with which they are to serve the Lord, the church and the world at large until we all see Jesus. I have always found as a Pastor that the happiest people in the church are those who have not only discovered the gifts that God has given to them, but those who faithfully, ‘Use Them Well’, to build up and edify one another bringing honor, glory and power to His holy name.

There is not even one person in the church whom God has not gifted to serve one another from His vast storehouse of spiritual giftings. For each and every one of us who may speak either as a pastor/teacher or evangelist, there are those that God has called to stand behind us in prayer lifting up our hands so the work of God goes forward with power.  Rather than coming to a leader and asking what the church is going to do about this or that situation or need, often times such a person should look into the mirror of their own lives and ask the question of what they are willing to contribute to the need? Is there someone that needs your help, or something that needs to be done? Then in the name of Jesus Christ go and help them with all of the strength that God will be sure to provide. The need will be met, and you will be edified because you ministered to that which God Himself placed before you.

There is absolutely nothing that we ever do my sister or brother that is too small or even too big for that matter in the Kingdom of God. We are called as His children and servants to go forward and do it with all of the strength He will provide. Not boasting in our own strength or fooling ourselves to think that we are wise enough, good enough or strong enough to pull this or that off on our own. Remember that if the Lord does not build up the house, those that labor, do so in vain.

Instead we are to always bend our knee, asking God to take the willing sacrifice of our lives and fill us with His Holy Spirit that we may bring great honor and glory to the name of Jesus as we build one another up in His powerful name. As we continually commit to do this, God will see us through all of the seasons of life, and more people will come to know, grow and show the life that only serving Jesus can bring.

Prayer Heavenly Father I thank You for the gifts that You have dispensed to each one of us in the body of Christ. Use me to function in my giftings and exhort and encourage others to do the same as together we build one another up and advance Your kingdom in Jesus mighty name.

Memory Verse: Romans 1:11“For I long to visit you so I can ______ you some ___________ _____ that will help you grow strong in the Lord.”
