Bring It On Scripture Reading: Ephesians 4:11 - 13

“Now these are the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.”

Is it not a wonderful thing when you are able to give someone a gift and when they see it, open it up and experience it, they are so thankful? The same is true when you receive a gift with thanksgiving, there is joy to share. It actually is God the Father Himself who packaged up the five-fold ministry gifting to enrich and encourage the church, the bride and body of Christ. As these gifts are honored and appreciated, God is glorified, the church is edified, and the message of the Good News of Jesus goes out to the very ends of the earth!

The role, of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers is to recognize and organize the gifts in the body in order that the church may go forward in grace. This happens as each person is willing to put their hand behind the plough and serve with all that God has given to them. When we join together in unity, working as a body, everyone is built up and God’s great work goes forward.

This work is not something that happens instantly, but it is actually an ongoing work in and through each of our lives, our loves and our surrendered hearts. It will carry on until our living and loving Lord Jesus Christ splits the skies and calls all of us home. Until that great and final day, we are called to serve God, serve and build up one another in love, as together we, ‘Bring It On’, and recognize the gifts not only which we have been entrusted with personally, but those of our sisters and brothers in His church, and those who have been called by God to lead us in these last days.

Our goal my friends is noble indeed. That we may grow up into the fullness of the stature of Christ Jesus. Lead us on O King eternal!

Prayer My Father in heaven, how I thank You for those You have called into full time ministry. Help me to be faithful to pray for them and lift them up as they lead us. I also once again come before You and offer my life and gifts that You have entrusted to me to You in service. Use me to build up the body of Christ and serve others I pray in Jesus precious name.

Memory Verse: Romans 1:11“For I long to visit you so I can ______ you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord.”
