Cared For And Called Scripture Reading: Jude 1 - 2

“This letter is from Jude, a slave of Jesus Christ and a brother of James. I am writing to all who have been called by God the Father, who loves you and keeps you safe in the care of Jesus Christ. May God give you more and more mercy, peace, and love.”

Jude the brother of James writes to the early church and to us today some two thousand years later the words are just as powerful as the moment that they were written under the inspiration and anointing of the Holy Spirit. He is bound to Jesus Christ and joyfully has given up his own rights in order that he may find a much richer, deeper and wider life as the bond – slave and servant of the Lord. It is this one and the same daily design that we are to allow to equip and enrich our hearts, loves and lives. There is absolutely no higher calling!

For each and every one of us who belong to Jesus Christ are, ‘Cared For And Called’. While it is absolutely true that there was a time when you called upon the name of the Lord and were saved – it is imperative for you to realize that God called your name first and you responded to the riches of His love, mercy and grace. It is this knowledge of the amazing love of God that keeps you safe knowing that His arms and aspirations are surrounding your life.

What a precious and paramount prayer request we see wrapping up this greeting: That we would have more and more of his mercy -  that which we do not deserve and show it forth to others that Christ may be revealed; may the promise of His peace be that which surrounds our hearts and flows from our lives as we face each and every day with Jesus; finally and foremost may the riches of His love not only fill us, but overflow through us as a living testimony to the truth that Jesus Christ is alive and well in our lives. For His greater glory to the ends of the earth, called to show forth His praise, forever and forever - Amen!

Prayer Father God as Your child I want to thank-You once again for the amazing riches of Your mercy, love and grace that have touched my heart and life. I pray that You will fill me with the same today and every day as I lift up my eyes to Jesus and run the race with all of those who have been called for Your greater glory. Use us Lord I pray through Jesus Christ my Savior and Lord.

Memory Verse: Philippians 3:12“I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus is calling us.”
