If My People Scripture Reading: 2 Chronicles 7:14

“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.”

There have been many times in my life that I have heard believer’s talking about those who have yet come to know the grace of God in derogatory terms, almost looking down on them. I always marvel when I hear these kinds of comments, and at times try to speak a word of exhortation, but most often simply pray. It is like looking at a blind person and being angry with them that they cannot see, a deaf person and talking down to them because they cannot hear, or a terminally sick person and being mean spirited to them because they are dying!

For my sister and brother, even as Jesus Christ came to bear witness to the light, life and love of God the Father, we must realize that now we are the light of the world, because of the seal of the Holy Spirit in our hearts and lives. The blessing of God the Father, most often comes upon others and to others because of those of us who already have been forgiven and restored to God because of all that Jesus has done.

Rather than looking down at those who are still lost, the promise of Father God to each and every one of us that know Jesus today is, ‘If My People’. Each and every one of us who have been forgiven are called to be like Abraham who looked down upon the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, and pleaded with the Father’s heart to God for their salvation.

This kind of a posture begins with a humility that truly realized that it is the amazing grace of God that saved wretches like us who were once lost, blind, bound – but now are found, can see and are set free. This leads us to a place of prayer that everyone, everywhere would have the same opportunity to come to Jesus as we have and discover life in His name.

The oil that greases the wheels in this regard are those of repentance, turning back to Father God. That we would be continually looking towards the face of God, and forever longing for His overflowing presence in our lives, to fill us towards accomplishing all of His purposes in Jesus name. No longer living in wickedness with all of its devious design, but desiring the fullness of life that only living for Jesus can bring.

The great news for you, your family, and yes – even our Country of Canada to the very ends of the earth is that when you and I order our steps in this fashion, God will hear the cries of our hearts, and change them to be more like His. Because of this our lives and loves will be shaped and changed, we will live in the forgiveness that only God can bring, our land will be healed and the Gospel will go out to the very ends of the earth in Jesus name.

Prayer My Father I come before You today in humility giving You praise for all that You have purposed and promised through my life. Help me to come aside and take more time to pray, to seek as a priority Your Kingdom above all else, to lay aside any sins that drag me down, and be a healing agent in this world showing and telling other about the glories of Jesus, I pray in His holy name.

Memory Verse: Psalm 51:12“_______ to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.”
