He is Lord Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 3:14 – 16a

“But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats. Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way.”

Peter brings a word of assurance to us as followers of Jesus Christ that even though everything does not work itself out down here on earth in regards to what is truly right, just and fair, that our part is to walk with our heads held high with the good confession that, “He is Lord’.

The world has its own way of doing business and sometimes if we are going to walk according to the reality of the Gospel we may need to suffer, even if we have done nothing or very little wrong. When it looks as though or seems that people with there schemes may have the upper hand on things, the truth is that God knows everything, even the hidden motivations of our hearts, and He will reward us for our faithfulness.

Living life with this kind of an uplook means that we can march on with a clean conscience before man and most importantly before God, walking in faith rather than plotting in fear. Realizing that each and every day that the Father graces to us is another opportunity either to declare: ‘Good Lord….it’s morning’ – or ‘Good Morning Lord’. As we choose to live in the latter we will discover God’s great plan unfolding through our joyful surrender.

It is in this place that we will actually have opportunities with other people to share our faith and trust in Jesus. When God opens these doors, we need to share simply what God has done for us in a gentle and respectful way, praying that the Father will open their ears and eyes, even as He has opened ours. Declaring with our hearts and lives that Jesus Christ is our Lord to the greater glory, honor and praise of God, that others may come to know, grow and show the abundant life that only Jesus can bring.

Prayer Father help me to remember that when I enter into times or even seasons of suffering that I am sharing in the cross of Jesus, and that Your joy is my strength. I pray today for my sisters and brothers that are enduring great times of testing. Be their strength and use me to encourage and bless others along the way I pray through Christ Jesus my Savior and Lord. Amen.

Memory Verse: Matthew 6:14“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.”
