The Pathway to Promise Scripture Reading – Philippians 4:6 - 7 (NLT)

"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."

Have you ever noticed that when it comes to peace, contentment, joy, and an overall sense of well-being about life and the things that are taking place on planet earth that there are some people who generally have it, and other's that generally do not? Those who generally have it are not the ones who are exempt from the trials, testing's and even heartaches of life that we all experience this side of heaven. But somehow, they face these things head on with an amazing sense of calm and certainty.

How can this happen? It comes from choosing as a follower of Christ Jesus simply not to worry about anything at all. You may say today, that's simply not practical or even humanly possible. But I said, and more importantly today's text illustrates a choice - not to worry, but rather to pray about everything.

As we pray by faith, we enter into, 'The Pathway to Promise', that God has for each and every one of His children! It involves not only letting God know our needs and allowing Him to enter into each area, but also thanking Him for everything that He is not only doing, but has purposed and promised to do for us through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Quite honestly, I believe that this process distinguishes those who generally have that sense of the peace of God, and a calmness of both heart and mind - which is God's will for each and every one of His children.

And as you and I are distinguished by His Spirit in this fashion, believe me - other's notice for the greater glory of Jesus. Not to mention that this is a much happier way to spend our lives while we await eternity.

Prayer Father, forgive me I pray for those times I am worrying about anything. Right now I pause and receive your peace as I trust you with everything in the precious name of Jesus.

Memory Verse:  Ephesians 4:29b NLT "Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them."
