Rescued Scripture Reading – Psalm 121:1 - 2 (NLT)

"I look up to the mountains - does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!"

Have you ever been outside of the reach of the city lights on a clear night and looked up into a clear and cloudless starlight sky without even thinking that God knows each and every one of the stars by name?

Or perhaps you have had the opportunity to drive through the mountains as I have had number of times, always saying to my wife as usually we share this ride together in awe: 'honey, this is the post card and we are living in it'. Again without even recognizing that these mountains are only His footstool.

Or maybe you have stood underneath a sunlight sky with a gentle breeze blowing through your hair on the seashore as the waves send individual grains of sand through your toes, never understanding that His love for you is deeper than all of the grains of sand in all of the oceans of the earth.

Lord willing over this summer I will spend just over a week at our camp, which is far from any city lights. After 11P.M. on a number of occasions I will lie down and gaze into the starlight sky, counting the satellites, or even perhaps being favored with a meteor shower – all reminding me of the greatness of our God!

The wonderful news my friend from the Psalmist this day is that when we lift up our eyes to Him there is a fresh revelation from the Spirit that we are, 'Rescued'. Yes, the God of all creation, the One who made the heavens and the earth - He is our God, our Heavenly Father, and truly we can count on Him!

Prayer My Father in Heaven today I remember that it is You who has made everything I can see. Lord Jesus I realize afresh that everything that is consists and has its being and is sustained in You. You are my ever present help in times of need. May I extend Your grace and help others to see Your face too, I pray in Jesus name.

Memory Verse:  Psalm 25:15 NLT "My eyes are always on the LORD, for he rescues me from the traps of my enemies.”
