It Is Finished Scripture Reading – John 19:30  (NLT)

"When Jesus had tasted it, he said, 'It is finished!' Then he bowed his head and released his spirit."

The cross and the culmination of the perfect life of the Lamb of God that was slain to take away the sins of the world, yours, mine and all who call upon the name of Jesus Christ will be cleansed and healed, by believing in His name.

It was these very moments for which Christ Jesus had prayed three times to the Father that if there was any other way than His bearing this penalty for our sins that the Father would show Him, but Jesus wanted the Father's perfect will.

It was here on the cross that Jesus cried out in agony as the Father turned His face from His beloved one and only Son, and poured out His righteous wrath upon the acceptable sacrifice for the sins of the world once and for all.

And here, just before our Jesus Christ died and released His spirit to the Father He cries out, 'It Is Finished'. Please do not be confused today, this was not a cry of agony and defeat, but rather a glorious declaration from the heart of the Son to the heart of the Father. 'Father I have completed the work that You have given for me to do - the price has been paid - the debt has been covered - now all who come to me can have peace with You'!

Yes, friends Jesus paid it all, all to Him we owe for our sins had left a crimson stain, but thank God, Jesus Christ our Savior and our Lord has washed it white as snow. This is the Good News of the glorious gospel that we can share with those around us who have yet to discover His wonderful grace. That God loves you, and Christ Jesus died for you, in order for you to have peace with God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Prayer Heavenly Father today I thank - You for the finished work of Jesus Christ my Lord through which I have Your peace in my heart and life. Spirit of God make me a seeker and sharer of Your peace I pray in Jesus holy name.

Memory Verse:  Colossians 3:15 NLT "And let the _______ that comes from Christ rule in your _______. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.”
