Under His Authority Scripture Reading – Ephesians 1:21 - 22  (NLT)

"Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else - not only in this world but also in the world to come. God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church."

Have you ever really experienced that wonderful freedom, when it is a sunny day, and you are riding on your motorcycle, or in your convertible car with the top down, or with the sunroof open, or with the windows down, - and you feel the wind chorusing through your hair, the sky is blue, the temperature is perfect and so is everything else. That is until you see in your rearview mirror the lights of the police car prompting you to pull over, for in all of this glory - you forgot to watch the speedometer as well. And stop immediately you did, because you recognize the authority of the police officer.

They are other types of authorities that we recognize in this world as well: Pastors, teachers, doctors, judges, premiers, prime ministers - and yes even the royal family has an effect upon many if they ever get to be in or around their presence. God has clearly directed us in His Word to be respectful of those in places of authority, for He has placed them there.

And yet, it is Christ Who is over all things! Not only things on this earth, but things in eternity as well. God has intended it to be just this way. Can you see why? -It is for the benefit of the church, the body of Christ Jesus, throughout all ages, world without end, forever and forever....AMEN.

The best news of all friends I have saved to the end. Can you recognize and you and I are 'Under His Authority' as well? For it is in that posture He bids us to come and pray and ask in His name, and in His authority, and for His greater glory - at any time and in any circumstance - He will be there, to lead and guide us along His Way.

Prayer Heavenly Father I remember that Jesus said that He only did the will of the Father when He was here on earth. Holy Spirit help me to understand that in my life and to walk in the promise and power of the authority of Jesus Christ my Lord. I pray this for Your greater glory and in Your name Lord Jesus.

Memory Verse:  Philippians 4:5 NLT "Let __________ see that you are considerate in all you do.”
