Show and Tell Scripture Reading – 1 Corinthians 10:33 - 11:1 (NLT)

"I, too, try to please everyone in everything I do. I don't just do what is best for me; I do what is best for others so that many may be saved. And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ."

Probably many of us remember in grade school that experience that most of us were able to enjoy called, 'Show and Tell'. This was the sharing of things that were both important and interesting to our hearts and lives as children with others.

The Apostle Paul here teaching and expressing how we should follow his lead as He followed the lead of Jesus speaks of the importance of our taking the lead in putting ourselves in the shoes/circumstance/setting of another, or even better walking a mile in the moccasins of another in order that we may understand how to connect and communicate the message of the forgiveness, grace and mercy of Jesus Christ into their understanding and hearts.

The most powerful way to communicate this love of Jesus is to set your own needs, your own agenda aside in order to reach out and love another in His name. It is hard for someone to ignore you when they experience you for no other reason you simply reaching out in selfless love, and giving of your time and heart ministering God's grace in a practical way.

Perhaps this is the most powerful way to both show and tell of the life that Jesus Christ has afforded to us. It certainly pictures what Jesus Christ did for us, leaving the glories of heaven, coming to earth, serving and suffering on the cross for our salvation. He was most concerned for our welfare eternally, and that is so much like our caring and loving Father God.

How thankful I am in Christ's church family that there are many that I see following Jesus in such a powerful way and making a difference....eternally.

Prayer Father, I rejoice today once again in the new life that You have given, and indeed give to me each and every day in Jesus. Make me sensitive to the needs of others, that my life would show and tell. Help me to understand that this is the best way to glorify Jesus as I follow His lead, and want others to see His glory. I pray this mercy in Jesus name.

Memory Verse:  Philippians 2:10a NLT"__ want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead.”
