Don't Be A Miser - Show Yourself Wiser Scripture Reading – Ephesians 2:4 - 5 (NLT)

"But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God's grace that you have been saved!)"

It is always important for those of us who have been the recipients of God's rich, mercy, love and grace to daily push our spiritual refresh buttons and remember exactly how it was and is that we are able to be lovers and servants of the Most High God.

Did you notice, I hope so, that our God is not at all stingy, and let's be honest, few people like stinginess in anyone, but rather He is a God who is rich in mercy. Now that word mercy simply, or should I say supernaturally (especially when applied to our lives - and then translated from us into the lives of others), means: 'tenderness of heart which disposes a person to overlook injuries'. When it comes to our lives before the One holy God it simply means getting that which we in no way deserve. And so today's text reminds us that it is only by the grace of God that we are able to enjoy, experience and most importantly express salvation.

So friend when it comes to you and I and the daily opportunities that we have in our lives to extend mercy to others, may we find ourselves becoming more and more like our Master.....RICH! So then, 'Don't Be A Miser - Show Yourself Wiser', and you and I will be a greater reflection of that greatest thing that we have experienced in God's grace - His love, acceptance and yes.....forgiveness!

Prayer Heavenly Father forgive me I pray in Jesus name when I am a miser with forgiveness, mercy and grace in the lives of others. Holy Spirit help me I pray to know, show and display in practical ways Your rich mercy for the people and situations that You bring across my pathway.

Memory Verse:  Philippians 2:10a NLT "I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead.”
