Shining Like Stars Scripture Reading – Philippians 2:14 - 15 (NLT) "Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people."

Just a couple of weeks ago the moon was apparently going to be 14% brighter on a given night. Having heard of this I was hoping that we would have a clear night light sky. Around 10 it looked as though it was going to be cloudy, so being one who loves looking up into the heavens I was a bit disappointed.

However, on my final drive home that evening, or should I say early morning, just after mid-night, there she was - shining in all of her brilliance. I don't know if she was 14% brighter, I only know that the glow was spectacular on that evening.

Someone once said concerning the darkness of our world spiritually a couple of things I think bear repeating: 'Don't curse the darkness without lighting a candle', and 'The darker the night, the brighter the light'. I must confess, I like both of those.

So how may you and I be those who are always, 'Shining Like Stars' in this world as we through our lives hold out the hope of salvation in Jesus? Today's text challenges us never to complain or criticize anything. Well, that certainly will set us apart, wont it? As people who are looking to another kingdom, and a soon coming King!

And as we live in this kind of a way, we will indeed stick out and even become attractive to those God is calling to come and follow Jesus to the only life that actually is life at all. For Jesus came and died and rose again, and yes today is still seeking to save those who are not on the straight pathway, who have lost their way, and as of yet are not nearly living for Him. The plan that He has chosen to use is You and I, the Bride, the Body of Christ Jesus in a dark world to make His light and glory shine!

Prayer Father I ask You to forgive me today, for complaining and criticizing anything. It is so hard not do get caught up in doing that in this world. However, I am from another place, so shine brightly through me, so many more will see Jesus my Savior and Lord I pray in His precious name.

Memory Verse:  Romans 8:28 NLT “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose."
